What is TARC?

Newark Memorial High School has a victorious history in the American Rocketry Challenge (TARC), the highest level of rocketry competition widely available to all American high schools, in which thousands of teams compete in it every year. Over the last two decades, our rocketry club competes yearly in this program, attaining many accomplishments, including securing 1st place nationally in 2007 and placing 11th nation wide last year. Our elite placement within the top 25 high schools in the country last year granted us the opportunity to submit a project proposal for NASA's Student Launch Initiative (NASA SLI). NASA accepted our proposal, confirming our team's participation. Now this year, part of the school’s rocketry club has moved their hard work and efforts over to this project during this 9 month commitment.
