What is SLI?

The NASA Student Launch Initiative (SLI) is an yearly educational program spanning nine months hosted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration

(NASA). This program is typically offered to universities, and only middle school and high school students who placed in the top 25 of the American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) the previous year are able to have this opportunity.

After placing 11th at TARC nationals last year, Newark Memorial High School’s Rocketry Club has now been given the opportunity to partake in this prestigious program after being accepted into NASA’s Student Launch Initiative (SLI).
